Employment: After their marriage, in 1967 Jerri and Frank moved to Elk Horn, IA, and remained there; she worked as a secretary and purchasing agent in the accounting department for Gate City Steel, and was certified by the American Red Cross as a Water Safety Instructor. Jerri loved arts and crafts and was a tole painting instructor at Iowa Western Community College. She was also a partner in the ownership of the “Diet Center” franchise for nearly a decade. In addition, she worked as the activities director at various nursing homes. She worked for the Elk Horn Windmill for 23 years, giving tours and meeting and greeting tourists from around the world.
