Employment: Farmed with her husband around the Shelby, Corley and Persia (IA) areas until 1967; at that time, they moved to a farm north of Walnut, IA, where they lived for 1 year before having a sale and moving into town. Mariann then began working as a cleaning lady at Peace Haven retirement home, and held that job for the next 27 years.

Hobbies/Interests: excellent cook and baker; very good seamstress; enjoyed gardening flowers; collecting dishes and glassware; reading; doing word puzzles; genealogy; time spent with family; member, Walnut Genealogy Club, Walnut Community Club, and Red Hatters Club
