Employment: After completing his military service, Jack bought a milk route and hauled milk for Avoca (IA) Creamery. He then worked for Ballard Ford in Oakland, IA, to be followed by working for Olsen Motors, where he sold cars and eventually became the manager. He had a love for cars, particularly for his own 1953 and 1963 Black Fords. In 1977, Jack and Lois started Osborn Auction, and today, Osborn Auction is still going strong with all of his family involved. He also farmed until his retirement in 2000.
