Military service: Enlisted in the U. S. Army, Sep. 1950 until Sep. 1952, serving during the Korean War

Employment: Farmed the Rueschenberg family farm, a recently designated Century Farm, outside of Westphalia, IA

Hobbies/Interests: Served on the board for Westphalia Credit Union for 26 years; was also a longtime member of the Westphalia Volunteer Fire Department, and drummer for the Country Four; participated with the Plant Iowa Committee in donating hundreds of trees to 5th grade students in Shelby County each year. Loved dancing to polka music, bird watching, supporting community events, watching Westerns, sprint car races, and trains. Mostly, he loved his family and attending their events.
