Attended the University of Iowa from 1953 to 1954, and from 1958 to 1959, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, and then in economics in 1958 from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, where he was a member of Sigma Tau Alpha.
