Survived by: Daughters, Sandy (spouse, Randy) Conrad of Harlan, IA and Judy Klindt (spouse, Mike Bridgman) of Clermont, FL; son, Raymond (spouse, Patti) Pedersen of Pewaukee, WI; brother, Lynn (spouse, Grace) McCord of Harlan, IA; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren

Education: attended grade school at Center Township No. 1, Shelby County, IA, and graduated with the Class of 1933 from Harlan (IA) High School. She continued her education at Drake University in Des Moines, IA and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1966.

Religious affiliation: baptized at Bethel Baptist Church, Harlan, IA. Member, First Baptist Church, Harlan, IA.

Employment: After she graduated from the university, she taught at Polk Township country school (Shelby County, IA) for 1 year. After her marriage to Emory and numerous transfers across the country due to his job, Darle and the children moved back to the Harlan, IA area where she taught school in Jackson Township, Avoca, and Harlan before retiring after 31 years.

Hobbies/Interests: Was a 50+ year member of the Lebanon Chapter No. 8 Order of the Eastern Star; she was initiated into Delta Kappa Gamma in Nov. 1976; active volunteer for the hospital and nursing home; served as a board member for the Shelby County Historical Society. Darle enjoyed playing piano, reading, sewing, doing puzzles, crocheting and traveling. She loved sports, especially college basketball finals.
