Education: attended country school in rural Hancock (IA) and graduated from Avoca High School with the Class of 1948

Religious affiliation: baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Avoca, IA; was a former Sunday School teacher and past president of the church council.

Military service: U.S. Army, serving with the Combat Engineers during the Korean War; he received a Purple Heart upon his honorable discharge

Marriage: Shirley Niemann; March 24, 1953; Trinity Lutheran Church, Avoca, IA

Employment: began his farming career on 160 acres southwest of Avoca, IA. He had a large cow-calf operation, hogs raised farrow to finish, and fed fat cattle.

Hobbies/Interests: served on the FHA board; member, American Legion member since his Army discharge; was president of the school board when the present Avoca High School was built. Wallace enjoyed family gatherings, attending church, and spending time with friends at community events.
