Education: graduated from Persia (IA) High School in 1949; he then attended Graceland College (Lamoni, IA), majoring in Religion

Religious affiliation: baptized at age 15 and served in the Ministry of the Reorganized Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints for 68 years

Employment: farmed in Iowa before moving to Adrian, MO in 1977 and farming there; he also did some electrical contracting.
