Employment: After high school, he worked at Mosler Safe Company in Ohio. After his marriage, the couple lived in Ohio and then moved back to Kentucky where Fred worked in a coal mine; he was injured in a coal mine collapse. In 1953, they moved to Dunlap, IA. Fred worked for Heistand Brothers International, Leaders Implement in Dunlap, Warner Implement in Woodbine, M&S Chevrolet in Dunlap, Big Valley Equipment in Council Bluffs and Glenwood, Iowa. He retired from Big Valley. He then worked at CDS in Harlan, Iowa retiring at the age of 77. He also helped his brother, Dennis, farm.

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed reading, visiting with family and friends, and fishing
