Carol Lee Leuschen-Hardy was born on January 18, 1960, the daughter of Roman and Sally Leuschen of Westphalia, Iowa. Carol was baptized at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia. Carol graduated from Harlan Community High School in Harlan, Iowa (1978), and AIB College of Business (1980), majoring in court reporting. Carol was employed as a Court Reporter for 25 years, mostly as an Official Court Reporter for the State of Iowa at the Polk County Courthouse until retiring in 2005.

Carol led a beautiful life, running five marathons as well as many other races. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, traveling and many other activities.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Steve Hardy; her parents, Roman and Sally Leuschen; her sisters, Jane (William) Grote, Sue Leuschen, Mary Jo (Robert) Maley, Eileen (Keith) Schwery and Amy Nielsen; her brothers, Roger (Robin), Russell and Ryan; nieces, nephews and many relatives.

Carol Leuschen-Hardy, 53, passed from this life on January 22, 2013. Per her request, no funeral or memorial will be held. Private burial will be at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.
