Funeral services: Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Harlan, IA; Pastor Leila Blackburn officiated. A private inurnment was held by the family at Oak Hill Cemetery, Irwin, IA.

Survived by: Special friend of 20 years, Lore Lohrke of Council Bluffs, IA; daughters, Vicki Clark of Harlan, IA, and Joleen Fiscus of Harlan, IA; son, Larry (spouse, Shalkye) Clark of Kimballton, IA; sister, Jean Lansman, of Harlan, IA; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren

Predeceased by: Parents, Homer D. and Beulah (Olson) Clark; brother, Howard D. Clark and sister-in-law, Marianne Clark; brother-in-law, Gerald Lansman; great-grandson Christian Pickett

Education: graduated from Irwin (IA) Consolidated High School, Class of 1941

Religious affiliation: baptized at the Irwin (IA) Methodist Church

Military service: enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 2, 1946 as a Construction Equipment Mechanic. He was honorably discharged on April 16, 1947, having received the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal.

Marriage: Laverne Anna Reuwsaat; Aug. 29, 1948; location not provided; they later divorced but remained good friends.

Employment: Following his military service, Lorren farmed in the Cass and Shelby County (IA) area. In 1966, Lorren purchased and ran Clark Welding and Repair Shop in Irwin, IA. In addition, he operated a gunsmith business. Lorren was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Irwin (IA) Fire and Rescue Unit. Following the sale of the repair service, he continued to work as an EMT for Myrtue Hospital System and later, Medivac. Lorren relocated to the Council Bluffs (IA) area and worked for Eppley Airport in Omaha, NE, and later the City of Council Bluffs, IA, until his retirement.

Hobbies/Interests: Lorren was a Boy Scouts of America leader for many years, achieving one of the highest BSA honors, Order of the Arrow. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing trips with family members.
