ELK HORN, IOWACarl Clarence, son of Maynard and Rose Marie (Hansen) Jensen, was born August 27, 1959, at Harlan, Iowa. Carl lived with his family south of Elk Horn and was baptized and confirmed at Elk Horn Lutheran Church. He attended Elk Horn schools and graduated with the Class of 1978. He then enrolled at Northwest Missouri State College at Maryville where he earned his degree in Animal Science and Animal Husbandry. Following his graduation he worked as herdsman for Harmony Hills Angus Ranch. Carl loved working with animals, woodworking, leather working, computers, and reading. When he had the time, he enjoyed hunting and trapping. Later Carl worked at several jobs in Missouri, returning to his home area in 1998. Several years later he settled in Des Moines. He died at home in Des Moines suddenly and unexpectedly on November 23, 2006, at the age of 47 years, 2 months and 25 days. Preceeding him in death are his grandparents Antony and Katie Jensen and Clarence and Edith Hansen. Carl is survived by his parents Maynard and Rose Marie Jensen of Kimballton; two sisters Patricia and husband Tim Lange of Sibley and Diane Jensen of Stigler, OK; brother Antony Jensen and wife Denise of Hutchinson, MN; three nieces; six nephews; five great-nieces; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
