Survived by: Children, Connie Saylor (spouse, Tony) of Hancock, IA, Larry Young (spouse, Kathy) of Hancock, IA, Roger Young of Minden, IA, Vickie Kempf (spouse, Marion) of Council Bluffs, IA, and Randy Young of Council Bluffs, IA; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Manhart of Neola, IA; nieces and nephews; other family members and friends

Employment: worked as a hairdresser until her children were born; she then became a full-time homemaker.

Hobbies/Interests: enjoyed sewing, canning, cooking and baking - her rolls and pies were particularly good. Esther was also a wonderful gardener; she enjoyed her flowers, plants and the many cactus plants that surrounded her family in their home.
