Died: Oct. 26, 2011; perished, along with his spouse, Marcella "Sally" Ann Schwery, as the result of an automobile accident south of Harlan, IA.

Funeral services: Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Panama, IA; Rev. John Dorton officiated. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Panama, IA.

Survived by: Children, Doug Schwery (spouse, Tresa) of Panama, IA, Randy "Brick" Schwery (spouse, Pam) of Earling, IA, Dale Schwery of Panama, IA, and Bradley Schwery (spouse, Melissa) of Portsmouth, IA; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donnie Schwery (spouse, Roseanne) of Des Moines, IA and Duane "Dewey" Schwery (spouse, Kathy) of Plattsmouth, NE; sister, Elaine (spouse, Ralph) Tremel of Panama, IA; brother-in-law, Leo Kenkel of Woodbine, IA; other family members and many friends.

Predeceased by: Parents, Lawrence and Agnes (nee Maiwald) Schwery; sister, Monica Kenkel; mother-in-law, Rita Dresen

Education: graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Panama, IA

Employment: The family lived on a farm five miles west of Panama, IA, where Bob began his farming career. He worked at the pork plant in Harlan, IA, as well as drove trucks for Clark Ready Mix, Panama Transfer, and Joe Bock Trucking.

Hobbies/Interests: After his retirement in 1998, Bob loved to keep busy in his hobby shop at the house. He could be found making three-wheel bikes and iron sculptures out of old farm machinery.
