Survived by: Wife of 44 years, Hazel Schnieder of Walnut, IA; step-daughter, Marjorie (spouse, Jerry) McIntosh of Council Bluffs, IA; step-son, Delmar Knudsen (spouse, Carol) of Council Bluffs, IA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; other family members and friends.

Military service: Howard enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 17, 1945, and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged from military service on Jan. 14, 1947.

Employment: Howard began his farming career after his schooling working for his parents near Hancock. After his military service and marriage, Howard and Hazel farmed east of Corley, IA, where they raised Angus cattle. Retired in 1990.
Hobbies/Interests: Howard had a large garden. He was always quick to help his neighbors whenever they needed help.
