Employment: Laura served as a dedicated housekeeper and friend to Rev. Anthony W. Fischer for over 57 years. They served faithfully at St. Boniface Parish in Waumandee, WI, St. Joseph’s Parish in Stratford, WI, and St. Anne’s Parish in Wausau, WI. Father Fischer and Laura always provided a very happy rectory. They hosted parties up north and never knew who would stop by in the evening for supper. After her retirement, she lived in Tomahawk, WI for 3 years and, in 1976, moved to Marshfield, WI where she continued to look after Father Fischer until his death in 1999. Laura lived alone in her home until moving into a nursing home in 2004.
