Survived by: Husband of 57 years, Jerome Rauterkus of Harlan, IA; children: Debra (spouse, Chris) Martin of Seadrift, TX, Richard Rauterkus of Manilla, IA, Jeanette (spouse, Steve) Drey of Storm Lake, IA, Samuel Rauterkus (spouse, Julie) of Manilla, IA, Renee (spouse, Dan) Brown of Petoskey, MI, Robert Rauterkus of Manilla, IA, and Cheryl (spouse, Ramon) Martinez of Kyle, TX; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosie Sondag of Irwin, IA; other family members and friends

Education: attended Irwin schools and graduated with the Class of 1948. After graduation, she attended Barnes Beauty School.

Religious affiliation: active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manilla and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan. Mary attended daily mass and helped with Meals on Wheels for several years. She taught religious education and served as Guild president at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance.
