Survived by: Husband of 48 years, Arlo Petersen of Kirkman, IA; children: Jeff Petersen (spouse, Laurie) of Manning, IA, and Deb (spouse, Kevin) Rutherford of Harlan, IA; grandchildren, Kristen and Ashlen Rutherford and Jay and Nick Petersen; sisters, Carole (spouse, Roger) Gaer of Fort Pierre, SD, and Myrna (Erb) (spouse, Bernie) Gundel of Fontanelle, IA; nieces; nephews; other family members and many friends

Education: attended country schools near Aspinwall and Kirkman, IA; graduated from the Irwin-Kirkman (IA) High School. While in school, she played basketball and was Salutatorian of her graduating class.

Marriage: Arlo Petersen, June 14, 1959, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Irwin, IA

Employment: After their marriage, Delores drove a school bus for Irwin Community School, and later was employed at CDS. Delores also helped her husband with the farm, driving the tractor, milking cows and throwing hay bales.

Hobbies/Interests: She enjoyed watching her grandchildren show horses; going to football and basketball games; listening to music and reading the bible. She loved animals and they loved her. Delores was a member of the Shelby County Saddle Club, St. Paul Lutheran Church, and also the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
