Norma Dean (Eggers) Truitt, the daughter of Arthur Thomas and Elizabeth Sarah (Brosnahan) Eggers, was born on April 18, 1926 in Denison, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of eighty-seven years and eighteen days of age.

Following her graduation from Denison High School, Norma was united in marriage with Orville Kenneth Truitt at St. Rose of Lima Church in Denison on July 9, 1947. Norma and Orville raised nine children and they made their home in Denison for five years before moving to Carroll. Norma was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and Guild. She cooked for Carroll Kuemper High School for over twenty years and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, camping, and ceramics. Norma made nativity scenes for all her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Kenneth Truitt; her parents; sisters, Phillis Eggers, Barbara Kohnenkamp, and Regina Furne, and Betty Truitt; brothers Bill, Frank, and Bob Eggers.

Norma is survived by her children: Robert Truitt and wife Sandra of Omaha, NE; Mary and husband Pat Clausen of Davenport; Donald Truitt and special friend Juanita Rose of Kiron; Nadine Mathews of Breda, IA; Trenace and husband Donald Jensen of Atlantic; Rebecca and husband Ronnie Sparks of Kansas City, MO; Barbara and husband William Linn of Lake City; Beth Ploeger of Independence, MO and Arthur Truitt of Lohrville; a brother, Donald Eggers, and his wife Betty of Denison; a sister, Patricia Healey of Vail; three brothers-in-law: Vernon Kohnenkamp of Dow City, Walter Truitt of Dow City and Robert Furne of Independence, MO; two sisters-in-law: Ilene Davidson of Woodbine and Beverly Eggers of Carmichael, California; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
