MARION RUTH HENDRICKS, 79, of Harlan died Fri., Apr., 26th in Harlan. A Memorial services for MARION HENDRICKS will be held 11-a.m. Fri., May 3rd, at the Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan.

MARION HENDRICKS is survived by:
Her Sons – Victor Conrad of Harlan, Ray Petersen (& special friend, Judy Pyles) of Waldron, AR and Rodger Petersen of Harlan.
Her daughters – Cindy (Charles) Allmon of Harlan and Judy (Dean) Allmon of Manilla
Her brothers – Clarence (Irmgard) Fox of Monroe, LA and Fred (LaVonne) Fox of Harlan
Her sisters – Virginia Rold of Harlan and Maryanne Knouse of TX
16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Survivors include 5 children: Victor Conrad, Rodger Petersen, Cindy (Charles) Allmon all of Harlan; Judy (Dean) Allmon of Manilla; and Ray Petersen (special friend, Judy Pyles) of Waldron, AR; siblings: Clarence (Irmgard) Fox of Monroe, LA; Maryanne Knouse of TX; Fred (Lavonne) Fox and Virginia Rold all of Harlan; 16 Grandchildren; and Numerous Great-Grandchildren. Marion Ruth Hendricks, the daughter of Fredrick and Eva (Martindale) Fox, was born on May 28, 1933, in Garnett, Kansas. Her family moved frequently when she was a child. Marion attended several country schools in Shelby County, Iowa, and then spent most of her life in Shelby County. She married James D. Conrad, Raymond B. Petersen, and in August 1976, Marion married Harold M. Hendricks in Denison, Iowa. He died in October 1999 in Manilla, Iowa. Marion moved to the Assisted Living area of Elm Crest Retirement Community on March 10, 2010.

Marion was a caring wife and mother, as well as a good cook and housekeeper. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Marion R. Hendricks died on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Myrtue Medical Center, in Harlan, Iowa, at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 29 days.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Connie Conrad. She is survived by three sons, Victor Conrad of Harlan, Iowa, Ray Petersen (special friend, Judy Pyles) of Waldron, Arkansas, and Rodger Petersen of Harlan, Iowa; two daughters, Cindy (Charles) Allmon of Harlan, Iowa, and Judy (Dean) Allmon of Manilla, Iowa; two brothers, Clarence (Irmgard) Fox of Monroe, Louisiana, and Fred (Lavonne) Fox of Harlan, Iowa; two sisters, Virginia Rold of Harlan, Iowa, and Maryanne Knouse of Texas; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, at the Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan. The Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, was in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left online at burmeisterjohannsen.com.
