JAMES DELBERT JENSEN, 72, of Kimberly City, MO (& formerly of Audubon), died Dec. 20th, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Celebration of Life Memorial services for JAMES JENSEN will be held 1-p.m. Sat., April 13th, at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Burial will be in the Exira Cemetery.

JAMES DELBERT JENSEN is survived by:
His wife – Judy Jensen, of Kimberly City, Mo.
His daughters – Cindy (Dave) Simonsen, of Audubon; Jayne (Delbert) Howland, of Springville, AL; and Tammy (Todd) Whitaker, of Liberty, MO.
His sisters – Laurie (James) Anderson, of Des Moines, and Louella Bingley, of Liberty, MO.
9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Obituary:
James (Jim) Delbert Jensen of Kimberling City, Missouri formerly of Audubon, Iowa, the son of Jens B. and Hilda (Petersen) Jensen, was born January 18, 1940, in Audubon, Iowa and died December 20, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri surrounded by his family at the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

Jim was baptized and confirmed at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira, Iowa. He attended the Audubon Community Elementary School in Audubon, Iowa and attended the Exira High School in Exira, Iowa.

On January 16, 1957, he was united in marriage to Judy Ann May at Jim’s parents’ home in Exira. Three daughters: Cindy, Jayne, and Tammy were born to this union. They lived in Exira from 1957 to 1964, where Jim worked with his father and brother Howard at the J&M International Harvester Implement Dealership in Exira and Audubon Implement in Audubon.

In 1964, they moved to Audubon and Jim and his brother built a new building for the implement company in Audubon and operated as Audubon Implement Company for many years until they sold the business in 1978. Jim then was involved in the Great Dane Fertilizer Company and later was a partner/owner of Sorenson John Deere Company. In 1995, Jim and Judy moved to Kimberling City, Missouri where Jim spent his time selling land and time shares.

Jim was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa and a member of The Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City. He had served in the National Guard and the United States Army Reserves from 1961 to 1964. Jim enjoyed restoring model A and model T cars. He enjoyed boating and spent many hours on Lake Okoboji where they had a summer home. He enjoyed his cats, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Howard Jensen and his wives Elizabeth Ann Jensen and Mary Ann Jensen.

Survivors include his wife Judy Jensen of Kimberling City, Missouri; his daughters: Cindy and husband Dave Simonsen of Audubon, Iowa; Jayne and husband Delbert Howland of Springville, Alabama; Tammy and husband Todd Whitaker of Liberty, Missouri; his grandchildren: Justin and wife Val Madison and Jared Simonsen all of Ankeny, Iowa; Jesse Simonsen of Audubon, Iowa; Emily Berger of Grimes, Iowa; Tyler Howland of Jacksonville, Alabama; Brittani Howland of Springfield, Missouri; Josh Whitaker of Kansas City, Missouri; Ashley and husband Ryan Allen of Kearney, Missouri; Haley Whitaker and Chelsey Whitaker both of Liberty, Missouri; 9 great grandchildren; his sisters: Laurie and husband James Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa; Louella Bingley of Liberty, Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service:
Celebration of life memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will be in the Exira Cemetery in Exira, Iowa.
