Pearl June (Kohl) Kenney

OVERLAND PARK –– Pearl June (Kohl) Kenney, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Overland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation, Overland Park, Kansas. Pearl was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Tennant, Iowa to Atman and Anna Kohl.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Kenney, two daughters Patricia Johnson and Theresa Kittleson, one granddaughter Susan Huston, two brothers Warren Kohl and Bill Kohl, and one sister Louise Andersen. She is survived by one sister, Betty Christensen. Pearl’s surviving children who will miss her are Carolyn (Dan) Winkel, Omaha, NE; Sharon (Gerald “Sam”) Huston, St. Louis, MO; Linda Kenney, Portland, OR; Ed (Carol) Kenney, Abilene, KS; Calvin (Mary) Kenney, Irvine, CA; Joan (Dennis) Wells, Springfield, MO; Bill (Christie) Kenney, Wallingford, PA; and Mary (Dan) Brown, Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Pearl will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date in Neola, Iowa.
