HARRY M. RASMUSSEN, 94, of Audubon, died Sun., July 23rd. His wife RUBY RASMUSSEN, 86, also of Audubon, died Thu., July 26th. Both passed away at the Friendship Home in Audubon. Joint funeral services for HARRY AND RUBY RASMUSSEN will be held 2-p.m. Sat., July 28th, at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, west of Audubon. Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon has the arrangements.

Friends may call at the funeral home, where a family visitation will be held 6-pm Fri., July 27th.

Burial will be in the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery.

HARRY AND RUBY RASMUSSEN are survived by:
Their children: Sheryl Burmaster, of Minneapolis, MN; Norlan (Lois) Rasmussen, of Audubon; & Marvin (Beth) Rasmussen, of Jefferson;
7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Services for 94 year old Harry M. Rasmussen and 86 year old Ruby Rasmussen both of Audubon will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 28 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church with burial in the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery both west of Audubon. Harry Rasmussen passed away on Monday, July 23 at the Friendship Home in Audubon. Ruby Rasmussen passed away on Thursday, July 26th at the Friendship Home in Audubon. Survivors include children: Sheryl Burmaster of Minneapolis, MN, Norlan (Lois) Rasmussen of Audubon, Marvin (Beth) Rasmussen of Jefferson; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon is in charge of arrangements where family visitation will be held on Friday, July 27 at 6pm.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Ronald Yarnell on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church west of Audubon, Iowa.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery west of Audubon.

Obituary:
Ruby Mae Rasmussen, the daughter of Otto C. and Elsie Marie Schmidt Jensen, was born July 6, 1926, in Douglas Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died July 26, 2012, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 86 years, and 20 days.
Ruby was baptized and confirmed at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church west of Audubon, Iowa. She attended rural school in Douglas Township and then was employed in the Audubon area.

On October 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harry Marvin Rasmussen. Four children, Sheryl, Norlan, Marvin and an infant son, were born to this union. Ruby helped Harry with the farm operations and was a homemaker raising her children. She later was employed at the Friendship Home in Audubon.

Ruby was a life-long member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church and participated in the women’s activities. She was a member of the neighborhood 3-M club for many years. She also enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Ruby moved to the Friendship home in 2010.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Harry M. Rasmussen; her infant son; her son-in-law David Burmaster; her sisters: Evelyn and husband Raymond Nielsen and Carrie Jensen, her sister-in-law Mildred and husband Einer Nissen.

She is survived by her children: Sheryl Burmaster of Minneapolis, MN, Norlan and wife Lois Rasmussen of Audubon, and Marvin and wife Beth Rasmussen of Jefferson, IA; her grandchildren: Dana Burmaster and Steve Harkin of Madison, WI, Nicole and husband Mike McCain of Minneapolis, MN, Leslie and husband Chad Gorman of Eau Claire, WI, Stephanie and husband Jake Anderson of Atlantic, IA, Micah Rasmussen of West Carthage, NY, and Miriam and husband Pedro Mendoza of Spring, TX; her great-grandchildren: Bennett and Natalie McCain, Jack and Ty Gorman, and Luke and Abigail Anderson; her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.
