Jeanne W. Lytle, age 98, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2012 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Carroll, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. on Monday until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Mrs. Ellen Severin. Private burial will be in the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa.

The family suggests memorials be made to Iowa Hospice or New Hope Village and may be left at the funeral home or the church.

Born on May 12, 1913 at Harlan, Iowa, she was the daughter of the Honorable George E. and Ann Adele (Ramsey) Miller. She grew up in Harlan and attended high school in Des Moines where her father was very active politically and served as Speaker of the House of Representatives. After his appointment as United States Marshall Jeanne had the opportunity to travel with her father during his tenure. She was married to H. Dean Lytle on December 18, 1931 at Omaha, Nebraska. To this union three daughters were born: Teri, Carolyn, and Georgia. The family made their home in Persia, Iowa, where they farmed. Jeanne attended secretarial school in Des Moines and worked as medical transcriptionist. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church while living in Harlan and the Eastern Star. Jean moved to Carroll thirty years ago so her daughter Teri could live at New Hope Village where Jeanne also volunteered and became very active.

Surviving are her three daughters: Teri Lytle of New Hope Village in Carroll, Carolyn Campbell of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Georgia Jackson and her husband David of Kansas City, Missouri; one grandson: Gregory Larsen of Dunedin, Florida; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Lytle of Harlan, Iowa and Vivian Lytle of Harlan, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, and many good friends. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters: Audrey Stofferson and Gladys Schulte and a niece Jackie Hollingshead of Orange County, California
