Good morning Sarah, If you had looked a the 1895 & 1900 records you would have known the mother was alive & no need to have posted bad search criteria on your Rootsweb post. "A lady that helps" does not tell me that she is the archivist for that cemetery or any of the others in Liberty & Allens Grove townships. We have to find our people on all available census records including state census records. Until we do, we can't post a SPECIFIC request that will provide beneficial responses that will further our research. You apparently have not looked for William and his parents & siblings on the 1870 census and it has nothing to do with your initial request. The only thing we should assume in genealogy is that we are the only ones doing our family histories Sarah, by the content of our specific requests, if anyone else is working on our lines, they will find us. And thar's a bonus we're not expecting. Dick
