Joanne, The Ia. Soldier's Home, aka Annie Wittenmeyer Home can be Googled for quite a bit of data. I would suggest you contact the Scott co. gene society or the Special Collections Dept. at the Davenport library for any assistance they can provide. Clannie Clarence Earles' 1917 Appanoose co, Ia. WW1 draft registration card indicates he was the support of 2 children, was born in Unionville Mo. which is in Putnam co. The 1900 census on Ancestry has him indexed as E. Larence Earls in Lincoln twp, Putnam co, Mo. with his parental family. Same place in 1910 has the household of Clarence A. Earle [Clarence C. Earls] Wife of 3 yrs is Orpha 19, born Ia. Son Raymond 7, also born Ia. Possibly Orpha died in childbirth with the 2nd son. Dick
