Final rites for William A. Arp, 89, were held at Durant Sept. 27 with the Rev. L. Jack Ehlers officiating. Pallbearers were Tom Quiram, Allan Ehrecke, Terry Carson, James and Randall Dudgeon and Larry Stoltenberg. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Arp died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Sept. 24.

The son of Henry and Bertha Arp, he was born near New Liberty Nov. 26, 1895. He was married to Valeria Kelling Nov. 18, 1929. She died in January, 1941. He was married to Gwendoline F. Dudgeon at Kahoka, Mo. June 12, 1942.

Mr. Arp farmed near Durant until retiring in 1961. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Veteran's World War I-USA.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Gerald, Walcott; a stepson, Delmar Dudgeon, Walcott; a sister, Wilma Stoltenberg, Durant; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
