Janetta Genevieve Mendez, 69, of Davenport passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be 3:00pm Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 11am till 3pm Thursday at the mortuary. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials may be made to the family. Condolences can be shared at www.rungemortuary.com.

Janetta was born January 27, 1953 in Clinton, IA to William & Juanita (Weldy) Faust. She was united in marriage to Joseph Mendez Sr. on January 11, 1974 in Davenport. With her husband she was active with the Lulac Club, loved to play Bingo, and cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers. With her Shoshone Indian heritage, she loved to collect Native American memorabilia. Her greatest love though, was her grandchildren.

Survivors include Husband Joseph Mendez Sr. Davenport; 2 daughters Tammie Mendez, Davenport & LeeAnn (Tyler) Lindquist, Bettendorf; 3 Sons Stephen Mendez, Joseph Mendez Jr., & Matthew Mendez, all of Davenport; 12 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; 2 brothers William Faust, WI & Dwayne Mendez, Davenport; and a sister Penny Lopez, Davenport.

Janetta was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Barbara & Rhonda, and 2 brothers Larry & Stephen.
