Judith “Judy” M. Steinke, 79, of Davenport, passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2022 at Genesis Illini Campus. A private family service will be held at Weerts Funeral Home. Cremation rites have been accorded. In remembrance of Judy, memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com

Judy was born on March 10, 1943 in Oskosh, WI to Gordon and Ruth (Fischer) McDonald. She married Harold “Pete” Steinke, and they later divorced. She was a successful business owner and operator of Burma’s Big and Tall Store, until retiring in the mid-nineties.

Judy loved to travel all over the world and made trips to every single continent. She was an avid animal lover with a particular soft spot for St. Bernards and Chinese Shar-Peis. Four days a week, Judy could be found enjoying Bridge in the company of friends. She will be dearly missed.

Those left to honor her memory include stepchildren Tom Steinke, Laura (Dave) Bloemker, Joe (Sandy) Steinke; grandchildren Dan Bloemker, Sarah, Bob, Nick and Jacob Steinke, Rob and Marc Hill; four great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Rhonda Pullman.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ruth McDonald; a sister Janice McDonald; daughter-in-law Melissa Steinke; and her ex-husband, Harold “Pete” Steinke.
