Shayla Callahan Germain, 53 yr. passed away unexpectedly at home on June 15th, 2022. Shayla was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Shayla was born and raised in Bettendorf, IA. She moved to North Carolina in 1991 to be with Robert, marrying shortly thereafter in 1992. They welcomed their first child, Connor Paul, in 1994. Hayley Nicole was born in 1998 and Madison Kay joined the family in 2002. In 2019 her sunshine, granddaughter Aubree Nicole was born.
Shayla enjoyed and extensive retail management career with Hamricks and then Marshalls where she touched many lives and made many lifelong friendships.
Even after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis it didn’t stop her from doing the things she loved. The thing she loved the most was her family. Being a grandmother was her biggest joy.
Shayla leaves behind her loving husband of 30 years and high school sweetheart Robert Germain, son Connor, daughters Hayley and Madison and granddaughter Aubree. She also leaves behind her mother Sandra Callahan, father Thomas and Judy Callahan, brother Shannon Callahan and nephew Logan Callahan and wife Jamie.
Shayla is preceded in death by her mother and father in law, Robert E and Kay Germain.
