Linda LaVaughn Colbert, 64, of Park View, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing, Utica Ridge, in Davenport, Iowa. She was cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 11AM - 2:00PM at Park View Lutheran Church in Eldridge, Iowa. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Park View Lutheran Church Quilters Group.
Linda was born on January 26, 1958, the daughter of Vaughn and Ernestine (Krueger) Thomas. She attended Erie Schools where she graduated in 1976. She married Charles G. Colbert on August 9, 1999 in Rock Island, Illinois. Linda worked as a USDA meat inspector at IBP in Joslin before going on to work at Plastic Products Company in Moline.
Linda was a member of Park View Lutheran Church where she loved to quilt with her church friends. She was a passionate Chicago Bears fan, and she enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Parcheesi. Linda also liked adult coloring and art. She had a fascination for wolves and often included them in her artwork. Most of all, Linda loved to spend time with her family, and her dog Mischa.
Linda is survived by her husband, Charles Colbert of Park View, IA; daughter, Lindsey Dudek of Davenport, IA; granddaughter, Delaney Felgenhauer; brother, Earl Thomas of Rock Island, IL; and mother-in-law, Barbara Colbert of Park View, IA.
