Martha Leah Schuler, 84, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Davenport.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m. in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be begin one hour prior. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemrotuary.com.

Martha was born May 14, 1938, with twin sister Mary, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Jay and Lucile Kathrine (Vogt) Delp. On March 17, 1956 she married Lawrence Schuler. She was employed with Sears Manufacturing, retiring in 1984, then working for Hy-Vee bakery from 1986-2015.

Martha was an active member of New Life Baptist Church. She was kind, compassionate, and talked to everyone she met so she never met a stranger. After retirement she was blessed to travel to places like New York, Washington DC, Alaska, Canada, Maine, Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, and trips to England and Scotland with her daughter.

Martha loved spending time with friends, camping and fishing with family, collecting snow baby figurines, dolls and antiques, and going to the library with her son. She also enjoyed reading and all the quilts her sisters and nieces made her. Martha was especially thrilled when her great-great-great twin nieces were born. After 84 years, another set of twins was in her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Laurence Dean Schuler and Nancy Lee Schuler; sister-in-law, Nola Lance; niece, Joan Delp-Frost; special grandson, Joel George; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved daughter, Lorri S. Schuler-Jones; sisters, Mary Coffman, Duretta Abbott and Esther Hart; brother, Jay Delp, Arthur Delp and Jimmie Delp.
