Denise Angela Paustian, age 65, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Durant, Iowa, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at UnityPoint Health Trinity-Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022, following the visitation at the funeral home in Durant. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Private burial of her cremated remains will take place in Durant Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Susan G. Komen Foundation or New Hope Presbyterian Church, Davenport.

Denise was born on August 6, 1956, the daughter of Ronald and Bertha (Urmie) Paustian in Davenport. She graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1974. After graduation, Denise attended cosmetology school in Cedar Rapids. Denise worked at various salons in Davenport, retiring in 2021. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, Davenport and the Durant American Legion Auxiliary. In her spare time, Denise enjoyed sewing, reading and was a talented artist, she especially enjoyed oil painting. Denise also enjoyed traveling and treasured visiting with her Aunt Sandra in California. Most of all, Denise loved spending time with her family and friends.

Denise will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Bertha; one sister, Debra (Chris) Bauman of Davenport; three step-siblings, Jeanette (Jim) Sherwood of Wilton, Mike (Rhonda) Taylor of Tipton, and Gene (Debbie) Taylor of Wilton; and many nieces and nephews.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, Ronald; and her step-mother, Edith Paustian.
