Vivian M. Brubaker, 99, of Davenport, IA rejoined her loving husband, Merlin, and family on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18, from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary, followed by funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. She will be laid to rest in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Vivian was born September 20, 1922 in Mitchellville, IA, the daughter of Raymon and Mabel (Peterson) Barrett. She was united in marriage to Merlin D. Brubaker on February 13, 1943 in Missouri. Vivian graduated from AIC in Des Moines, IA, and moved to Bettendorf, IA in 1965. She retired from Martin-Marietta after many years of service as an executive secretary.

Vivian was a hardworking, kind, generous woman who loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed going fishing and on family trips with her family. Vivian loved animals and admired her husband’s garden. She was also a member of St. John United Methodist Church.

Survivors include son, Dale (Sandy) Brubaker; daughter, Barbara Beeks (of the late Bob Beeks); grandchildren, Jonathan (Emily Charlton) Beeks, Amber (Josh) Gylling and Veronica (Dale) Basye; great-grandchildren: Brenna, Scarlett, Becka, Emma, Peyton, Jordyn, Kaela and Kale; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; grandson, Rob Beeks; and brothers, Lowell and Robert.
