Donald E. Schiffke, 82, of Davenport, IA, joined the love of his life, Joyce Schiffke, in Heaven on Saturday, January 23, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, from 5-7 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Don’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.

Don was born on November 1, 1938, in Davenport, IA, to Carl and Mildred (Daasch) Schiffke. He married Joyce Brown on Friday, December 13, 1968, which they celebrated every Friday the 13th over the years due to the clerk never putting the month on the marriage license. Don retired from Kartridg Pak after 40 years as a machine operator. He loved camping hiking bowling family vacations spending time with his family was very important to him he would go above and beyond to make his wife happy by taking whatever dance lessons she wanted him to take he enjoyed he worked many side jobs to help raise all his kids he was most dedicated to taking care of his wife Joyce.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Don (Dale) Schiffke, Theresa Kolund, David (Connie) Schiffke, Kim (Bill) Myrick, Roxanne Lyttles, and Melissa (Randy) Gomez; brothers, Bob Schiffke and Ken (Susine) Schiffke; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Schiffke; his son, Tony Lyttles; and both of his parents.
