William Ott, aged 57 years, died at his home two and a half miles southwest of McCausland, Monday morning, about 5 o'clock. Deceased was born in Davenport, February, 1859. He was a pioneer farmer of Butler township. Mr. Ott had been in poor health for some time, and has been confined to his bed for several months. Surviving are his wife, whose maiden name was Maltida Mueller, and eight children, four boys and four girls, and one brother, Ernest Ott. The children who survive are: Mrs. Geo. Leptian of Bolin, S.D., Ernest Ott of Eldridge, Mrs. Chris Litcher of McCausland, Claudina, William, Tillie, Matilda, Otto and Chris Ott, all at home.

McCausland, Ia., Oct. 24--Wm. Ott, a well known and wealthy farmer, passed away at his home at five o'clock Monday morning, after an illness of about two years, heart trouble being the cause of his death. Deceased was born in Davenport township Feb. 25, 1859, and had spent his entire life in this community. He was married to Miss Matilda Miller 32 years ago, and leaves to mourn his loss his wife and eight children as follows: Mrs. Linda Leptein of Dolan, S.D.; Ernest of Eldridge; Mrs. Christ Litscher and Claudina, Otto, William, Matilda and Chris, at home. The funeral will be held from the home Thursday at one o'clock, and burial will be made in Oakdale cemetery at Davenport.
