Funeral services were held Monday at Durant for Rudolph C. Harder, 81, of Davenport, a former Durant resident who died Friday at Mercy hospital, Davenport. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

A son of Marx and Catrina Harder, he was born March 31, 1875, at Bluegrass. His marriage to Lena Mangels took place Feb. 7, 1900. The couple engaged in farming near Albion for ten years before moving to Davenport in 1939.

Survivors include his wife; four brothers, John, Stockville, Nebr., Louis, Davenport and Hugo and Herman, both of Walcott; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Mangels, Davenport, Mrs. Kate Dittmer, Durant, and Mrs. Bertha Philodt, Walcott. A sister and brother preceded him in death.
