The Davenport Democrat; Davenport, Iowa; Friday, February 02, 1894

The death of Sophia Eliza Meetz, wife of J. Fritz Meetz, occurred at her home 1448 west Second street, at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Grip was the fatal ailment. Deceased was 74 years of age and was born in Holstein, Germany, and came to this country in 1852. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Doris Neumann [sic-Meumann] and Mrs. Regina Hansen.
The funeral will take place from the residence Sunday at 2 p.m.
