Christopher M. J. Kruse, the well known Scott county pioneer, passed away at his home at 310 Bismarck street this morning at 4 o'clock. The deceased was born in Germany in 1816, but came to this country when quite young. A greater part of the 91 years of his life has been spent in this city. He has taken a prominent part in public affairs in Davenport and Scott county, being supervisor for a number of years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frederick Fahrenkrug and Miss Christine Kruse at home. There are also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at his home, with interment in Oakdale cemetery.
