Edson King, for many years engaged in the express and hauling business here, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mercy hospital. Death followed an extended illness.

His home was at 324 Brown street. Born in Rapids City, Ill., Feb. 18, 1868, he came to Davenport with his parents when he was a child, and attended school here. Five years ago he retired from business because of ill health. In 1891 he married Bertha Bennett, who survives besides a sister, Mrs. Julia Elliott of Rock Island.

The body was removed to the Runge mortuary pending completion of funeral arrangements.
