Mrs. Henry Helkenn, 86, Walcott, died Oct. 28, at Mercy hospital, Davenport, following a 6 week illness. Services were Nov. 1 in Davenport, with burial in the Walcott cemetery. The Rev. Fred Rohlf officiated.

Pallbearers, all nephews, were Clarence Bell, Harvey Engler, Fred and Elmer Hamann, Rolland Helkenn and Louis Claussen.

Minnie Meier was born June 19, 1881 near Eldred. She was married to Henry Helkenn Feb. 24, 1903 in Eldridge. They farmed in the Walcott area for many years, moving to Walcott in 1958.

Mrs. Helkenn is survived by her husband, son, Carl, Walcott; 2 daughters, Mrs. Victor (Elna) Makoben, Stockton; Mrs. Howard (Erma) Lane, Wilton Junction; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Sophia Priester, Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; Mrs. Walter Bell, Davenport, and Mrs. Frank Friedericks, Maysville.
