Stephen Pope Plumb died at 6 a.m. Sunday, 2 August, 1930, at his home, 1215 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, Iowa after a lingering illness.

He was born in Toolsboro, Louisa County, Iowa, on July 12, 1862, and came to Davenport with his parents, Stephen H and Alice Houghton Plumb, when a child. He received his education in the Davenport schools. He was married to Miss Mathilda Andrews on Aug. 31, 1889, here. Stephen was a painter and carpenter. He was a member of the Trinity Lodge and a Thirty-second degree Mason.

Surviving are his wife; three children, Leonard of Wapello, Ia., Stephen of Davenport, Mrs. E. A. Wehmeyer (Mathilda Alice (Tillie) of Clinton, Iowa, eight grandchildren and one brother and one sister.

The body was taken to the Runge Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
