Muscatine, Ia.- Mrs. Gladys Fernwood Plumb Wall, R. R. No. 1, Letts, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 1949 in University of Iowa hospital of a stroke.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1897 to Jesse and Mary Stitt Kerr in Morning Sun, Iowa. Also lived in Wapello, Davenport and then moved to Muscatine. She married Stephen A. Plumb who passed away in 1940. On Oct. 22, 1943 she married Arthur V. Wall in Davenport.

Gladys loved gardening and canning plus taking care of her children and her first husband who had TB. When someone came to the door in need of food she always fixed them something to eat. Gladys took in washing and ironing to help support her six children after her first husband died.

Survivors include her husband, two sons by a previous marriage, Phillip and Kenneth Plumb, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Carter, Oakdale, Ia., and Miss Gwendolyn Plumb, Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Edwards, Morning Sun, and Mrs. Marvel Wilson, Galena, Ill.; three brothers, Lloyd Kerr, Davenport, Jesse, of Albia, and Randall, of Burlington; her father, Jesse Kerr, and two grandchildren.
The body is in the Fairbanks funeral home from which it will be taken to Fairmount chapel in Davenport at 11 a.m. Monday for services at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow in the Davenport crematorium.
