Mrs. Anna Kay, Resident Here 51 Years, Dies

Had Resided in Scott County Since Coming to this Country

Mrs. Anna Kay, for 51 years a resident of Scott county, died this morning at 7:30 at her home in Eldridge, Ia., after a lingering illness.

Miss Anna Roth was born in Winnert, Holstein, Germany on June 30, 1845. She came to Scott county 51 years ago. On March 7, 1877, she was married to Charles Kay of Davenport. The couple settled on a farm near Eldridge and made their home there until 20 years ago when they retired and moved to Eldridge.

Her husband preceded her in death 18 years ago. Mrs. Kay was a member of the Turner Ladies' Auxiliary of Eldridge.

Survivng her are four daughters, Mrs. Albert Zabel of Eldridge, Mrs. Edward Frickel of Davenport and the Misses Caroline and Alvina of Eldridge. One son died four years ago, one died in infancy and one sister Mrs. Meta Block, resides in Renwig, Ia.

The body was taken to Runge's mortuary and will be returned to the home Friday. Funeral services held there at 2 p.m. and at the grave in Long Grove cemetery will be private but friends are welcome at the home until 12:30 p.m.
