Marion A. Davis, 82, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Davenport, Iowa Following an extended illness.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Private family services will be held on Wednesday with burial to follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Nursing Center's Alzheimer's Unit.

She was born April 23, 1925 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Francis Otto & Josephine (Fox) Pallischeck. On April 7 1945, she was united in marriage to Rollon "Red" Davis in Rock Island Illinois.

Marion was a devoted wife, loving mom & grandma who took great pride in caring for her home & family.

For many years, she was a faithful volunteer in the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, enjoyed participating as a leader in Girl Scouts and loved to dance with her friends in the Circle Four Square Dancing Club. She & Red were long time members of the Lindsay Park Boat Club and spent many enjoyable hours on the river. She enjoyed her card clubs, camping, needlework, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. Marion was an excellent cook, loved flower gardening and had a special place in hear heart for animals.

Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband, Red; her daughter Linda L. Davis Hill and her husband, Donald L. Hill of Woodhull, Illinois; her grandchildren, Danielle (A.J.) Drexler and James R. Davis; her great-granddaughter, Katie Drexler; her sister-in-law, Maureen Pallischeck of Muscatine, her step-granddaughters, Julie (Dave) Rodman, Teresa (Troy)Womac and Rhonda (Jody) Kottmer; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Proceeding her in death were her son, James A. Davis; her sister, Mary Ellen Carney; and her brothers, Fran, Robert, Paul, and James Pallischeck.

The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff of the Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Center for their excellent care and compassion. Also a sincere thank you to Aunt Bev & Uncle Larry Barnhouse for the help they gave the family in their time of sorrow.
