PASSED AWAY.— By notice elsewhere, it will be seen that Mrs. Felicite Motie, better known as “Grandmother Motie”, has passed from earth. The event occurred this morning at nine o’clock, at the residence of her daughter, in the presence of many sorrowing relatives and friends. Mrs. Motie was born in Missouri, in the year 1783, and consequently, was ninety years of age at the time of her death. She has been a resident of Davenport for the past thirty-one years, coming here about 1840, when what is now our fine city was in embryo, with but a few residents and fewer houses. The deceased was loved and respected by a large circle of acquaintances and friends, and she dies, having lived far beyond the allotted three score and ten years, full of good and kind deeds, and at the close of a life well and nobly spent.

The funeral occurs tomorrow afternoon from the residence, and the remains will be entered in Ste. Marguerite’s Cemetery.
