LAST RITES FOR RIVER VICTIM FROM DAVENPORT

Preston, June 1-Funeral services for Miss Mabel Chrest of Davenport, daughter of Mr. August Chrest, former residents of Preston, were held Tuesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church, Preston, at 3:30. Rev. T. Schoenbaum of Clinton officiated, in the absence of Rev. W. Bischoff, who was attending a meeting at Waverly. The body remained at the funeral home in Bellevue until Tuesday afternoon.

Miss Chrest was drowned with five Keeney family members when a fishing boat capsized in the Mississippi River near Green Island Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Preston cemetery.
