Obituary.

Markwardt.

Mrs. Gertrude C. Markwardt, age 49, 1812 West Seventh street, a reisdent here since 1894 died Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m at Mercy hospital following a week's illness.

She was born in Germany Sept. 15, 1877 coming to America in 1881 with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wollmer. The family settled in Cincinnati, O.; until 1894 when they came west to Davenport.

Gertrude Wollmer was married to John A. Markwardt Nov. 5, 1900 at Davenport.

Surviving are her husband a daughter, Lillian, at home, her mother Mrs. Marie Wollmer of Davenport, a sister Mrs. Clara Gabelmann and a brother Paul, also of this city.

The remains were removed o the Runge mortuary and will be returned to the home at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. The funeral will be held from the home, Friday at 2:45 p.m to St. Mary's church at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Fairmount cemetery.
