Mrs. Mary Agnes Lambert, beloved wife of William L. Lambert, passed away at 5:50 o’clock Monday afternoon at the family home, 2829 Sheridan street. Death terminated a two weeks’ illness.

The maiden name of the deceased was Mary Martin. She was born in Davenport, Oct. 22, 1872, and lived here all her life. She was educated at St. Anthony’s school.

On Nov. 21, 1899, she was united in marriage to Mr. Lambert at Sacred Heart cathedral. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Davis, at that time rector of the cathedral.

Mrs. Lambert was a woman of lovely character and had a host of friends who will sincerely mourn her death. She was a member of the Lady Maccabees and the Homesteaders. She was one of the faithful worshippers at St. Paul the Apostle church.

Surviving are the husband; two sons, Leon and Kenneth and a brother, John Martin of Texas.

The remains were taken to the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home and this evening will be returned to the family home where the funeral will be held at 8:30 o’clock Friday morning, with services at 9 o’clock at St. Paul the Apostle church. Interment will follow in St. Marguerite’s cemetery.

The Lambert Funeral

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Agnes Lambert was held from the family residence, 2829 Sheridan street, at 8:30 this morning with services at 9 o’clock at St. Paul the Apostle church. Rev. C.J. Donohue celebrated a requiem high mass, pronounced the burial absolution and preached the funeral sermon. He also officiated at the grave in St. Marguerite’s cemetery. The church was filed with the many friends of Mrs. Lambert, and there were many beautiful flowers.

Pallbearers were Henry Martin, James Martin, M. McDermott, Ed Brannigan, Edward Navin and John Kivlin.

The Lambert Funeral

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Agnes Lambert was held Friday morning from the home, 2829 Sheridan street, with services at 9 o’clock at the church of St. Paul the Apostle. Rev. C.J. Donahue celebrated the burial absolution, preached the funeral sermon and officiated at the grave in St. Marguerite’s cemetery.
Pallbearers were Henry Martin, James Martin, M. McDermott, Edward Berrigan, Edward Navin, and John Kivelin.
