MRS. C. FREUND DIES SUDDENLY THURSDAY NIGHT

Wife of Geo. K. Freund, Retired Farmer, Leaves Nine Children

Mrs. Catherine Freund, wife of George K. Freund, died very suddenly at her home, 609 East Central Park avenue Thursday night at 12 o'clock. She had been in excellent health until 10 o'clock last night, and death followed due to stroke.

Catherine Schilling was born in Germany on Aug. 7, 1856, being 69 years old at the time of her death. She came to the United States, direct to Davenport, with her parents when 8 years old. Here she married George K. Freund on Feb. 27, 1877, at the St. Joseph's church, Monsignor A. Niermann performing the ceremony. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary society of St. Paul's church of which she was a member in the congregation.

Mrs. Freund leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Josephine Geurink of Monrovia, Cal., Mrs. Charles Kelly of Stockton, Cal., Lillian, Edith and Martha, all at home; four sons, Arthur Freund of Scotia, Cal., Henry Freund, of Milwaukee, Wis., Louis Freund of Eldridge, Ia., and Leo Freund at home; five sisters, Mrs. George Johnston, Mrs. Charles Ulrich, Mrs. Dwayne Meinecke, Mrs. Anna Perkins, all of Jefferson, Ia., and Mrs. Joe Bontz of Minner, S.D. and three brothers, William, Henry and Bernard, all of Jefferson, Ia.

The body was removed to the Fred N. Ruhl Funeral Home where it will remain until Sunday morning when it will be taken to the late home for funeral services to be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. and to St. Paul church at 9 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Marguerite's cemetery.
